The services we provide require a dedicated staff that is committed to utilizing behavioral support programs, aiding with self care, or performing essential duties, while maintaining the consumer's dignity.

Position: The Day Center Program Assistant aids the Director of Day Services in the operation of the Aurora Day Services to assure the delivery of timely, consistent, and quality vocational-related services.


  • Assist/teach skills that create opportunities for socialization and community engagement
  • Utilize consumer strengths to build new skills and achieve goals
  • Communicate consumer needs, health-status change, or concerns to appropriate management staff immediately
  • Follow consumer's service plan and behavioral support plan
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of medical documentation, consumer's progress, change in condition, and activities via documentation during each shift
  • Provide guidance, assistance, or training to others where appropriate
  • Assisting with self care medication administration, scheduled toileting and incontinence care

Essential Requirements/Functions:

  • 18 years of age
  • Acceptable Background Character Verification
  • Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record for consumer transport
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to twist, turn, squat, bend, reach, pull, push from high/low position, raise arms above shoulder, walk, sit (chair and floor), climb stairs, and use hands and fingers
  • Communicate basic English
  • Basic reading, writing, and internet navigation skills
